As someone who generally balks at spending more than $10 on a sandwich, I'd happily make an exception for Bub & Grandma's--and keep coming back for more. The bread here is top tier; if I could put a ring on that perfect piece of carb, I would. The tuna salad is spot-on, with a bright, fresh flavor from a hint of lemon. And the Morty D (aka the muffuletta) is simply divine--an absolute must-try. The place itself is filled with natural light and always packed, and for good reason. If you haven't been yet, go. Even if you're just stopping by to pick up a loaf of bread, do it!

What's not to love?! I'm happy every time I go. One of my favorite tuna sandwiches in the city, and I've had almost every other sandwich on the menu and always leave pleased. I love going and sitting with a book or bringing friends who've never been before for lunch. Such a good vibe inside, I never want to leave.

My second visit here was so sweet. I love the diner feel here. It really is a cozy place and a wonderful way to spend an easy Sunday breakfast or grab a chocolate donut just because. I had a cappuccino, toast with butter, and a slice of quiche. It was a pleasant breakfast.

This place is busy on the weekends and has a line for take out and a line to be seated inside. The employees are very attentive. Huge fan of the light that comes through in their dining room. Morning Bun- 8/10 Great flavor just not as soft as I'd like. Almond Croissant- 8/10 Nothing special, tastes like any other almond croissant. Croissant Loaf Slice w/butter- 10/10 This right here is where it's at. If you love croissants you need to try this. *Highly Recommend*

Near my kids school, so I stopped by. I read that Bub and Grandma's supplies bread to some of the popular and trendiest restaurants in LA (the list is on their website), that would explain the LINE waiting to dine-in; and another line at the designated takeout window area. Am told weekdays at mid-week aren't so bad in terms of the crowd, but from Friday onwards it's very busy! The menu offers deli-style sandwiches, salads, toast, sides and fresh pastries. All American classic food with a modern touch. It's all about the bread here. There is a small full-service cute retro dine-in area; and outside walk-up window takeout counter. They are Mostly open for breakfast and lunch; however, on Sundays and Monday they have jazz night and an evening menu, if you want to check it out. Service: it's a busy spot. Servers are clearly doing the best they can and possibly overwhelmed. Alex was absolutely wonderful and welcoming; his coworkers not so attentive or helpful. Had to ask for the check multiple times and was clearly told yes, but ignored, not cool. Finally Alex to the rescue-thank you! Hit and miss on service. Gratuity starts at: 20%, 22%, and 25%. :) -street parking only - not sure if they take cash... bring a credit card.

Roast Beef Sandwich / roast beef, cheddar cheese, dijon, onions, au jus, kaiser roll - 5! Old Fashioned Potato Salad - 5! I found out about Bub and Grandma's Restaurant when another place I go to advertised that their amazing bread came fresh from Bub and Grandma's. The bread was incredible so I made my way over to see if their menu matched my gluten obsession. The menu serves breakfast and lunch with a mix of classics and new favorite. Everything looked great. The place was full and their take-out window was busy the entire time I was there. Always a good sign. I was drawn to the roast beef sandwich. It was magical. I love food and I love all kinds of dishes. But when something sings along with my taste buds, it feels like a celebration. That is what this roast beef sandwich was. Everything about it was perfect. I was so enamored with it, I nearly ordered a second one. I also had their potato salad. It was also excellent. It had great texture and flavors and was a perfect side to go with the roast beef. I was tempted by the bakery/dessert menu. I'd love to go back and try out the breakfast menu and their desserts. The restaurant was roomy with lots of indoor seating. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everyone who worked there looked to be having a good time even though it was busy. They have a diner style decor. I was sitting next to a covered piano with funny signs warning me from practicing on it. It made me wonder when they have a piano player and how that would add to the fun ambience. I found street parking around the side. I didn't see a parking lot. The tricky part to parking is that it is on a pretty busy road in a hilly area of LA. If you miss your chance for parking, you may need to backtrack or go around so you can try again. It is worth it! This place was excellent and a top five sandwich for the entire year for me.
